
How to make (almost) ANYTHING
SA+P is creating an architecturally driven version of the infamous MIT Media Lab’s ‘How to make anything’ course. I will be one of two Teaching Assitants for this class and will post occasional updates as the class progresses. Its should be an exciting semester! Below is the class description and details.
Graduate (Fall) H-Level Grad Credit
Course Description:
Provides an introduction to the resources for designing and fabricating smart systems, including CAD/CAM/CAE; NC machining, 3-D printing and scanning, molding and casting, laser and waterjet cutting; PCB design and fabrication; sensors and actuators; analog instrumentation; embedded digital processing; wired and wireless communications. Emphasis on learning how to use and integrate these tools as well as understand how they work.

The students will be divided between two sections – MAS & Architecture with a web conference link between lectures. Each section will have equal access to machines, materials and instruction. New machines: Waterjet, 3-axis CNC router, Vacuum Former, 3D printer, 3D scanner etc.
