Graphic Statics Dome
Graphic Statics in Grasshopper

Using a method of analysis by William Wolfe- documented in “Graphical analysis; a text book on graphic statics” I created a Grasshopper tool for the generation of spherical domes. I was fascinated by the diagrams and how they perfectly articulated where the forces transition from compression to tension (because spheres are not funicular). I used the grasshopper tool generate 2d statics diagrams and 3d hollow core bricks, sized tension cables, and robot programs for milling brick molds.
